Youth Volunteer Program

2018 Youth Volunteer Program

Are you looking for a unique extra-curricular activity for your middle school student who is passionate about rescuing animals? Is your high school student looking to complete community service hours in an animal setting? The FredSPCA Youth Volunteer Program may be for you! Please have your 6th through 10th grader join us this year for a fun and educational experience at the Fredericksburg SPCA humane animal care center, where your child will gain new knowledge and experience in animal care as they work alongside staff and volunteers.

What is it?

The FredSPCA YVP is a series of educational, recreational and volunteer activities that help students understand how our animal resource center operates and allows them to cultivate skills in animal care and advocacy in the community. Often students who sign up for this program are already passionate about animal rescue and want to help further

When is it?

First Saturday of every month  from 3-5 pm beginning April 7th

How much does it cost?

Individual sessions cost $15 , or you can buy a package of 6 for $75

Do parents have to stay?

Absolutely not! The beauty of the YVP is that our staff supervise work with our young volunteers so that they may participate independently from their parents! Go grab a cup of coffee or run to the grocery store while we provide a fun and enriching two hours of activity for your young animal lover!

How do I register?

Please email our volunteer coordinator at to obtain an application and schedule your session.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any additional questions or comments.
