Each year, the good people at the Spotsylvania Department of Social Services provide Thanksgiving and/or Christmas assistance to needy residents through the Holiday Hope Program. We are excited to announce that #FredSPCA will be partnering with SDSS this year to provide needy residents with pet supplies and access to our Pet Pantry Program as well! Read on for more details!
SDSS will be providing 50-75 food baskets or boxes to eligible residents needing assistance. We here at the FredSPCA will be providing a matching amount of pet goody bags!
SSDS are also in dire need of food donations for the holidays! We will be collecting non-perishable food items in addition to pet food. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter during business hours, 12 pm to 6 pm, every day but Wednesdays!
Spotsylvania Department of Social Service’s “Holiday Hope” program hopes to help at least 2,600 children this year. Holiday Hope matches businesses, church and community groups, and individuals with needy families. Qualifying families submit an application to SDSS and provide a list of the names, ages, and clothing sizes of all children in the household. The SPCA will be collecting pet good, treats, and toys to deliver on designated pick-up dates!
Spread the word and help us collect food items for both humans and animals alike this holiday season!
