Board of Director: Open Position

The Fredericksburg SPCA Board of Directors is a dynamic team comprised of the area’s most talented and generous business leaders. Below is an excerpt from the by-laws stating what is required of each member, and what is required of the Board as a whole. The following attributes shall be applied for qualifying potential Board members:

  1. Ability to contribute time, talent, and treasure to the SPCA; demonstrating passion and commitment for SPCA’s mission, vision, and values.

  2. Commitment to actively engage in fundraising, including obtaining a minimum of two (2) sponsors per year.

  3. Commitment to attend community outreach & fundraising events, including attending the Fur Ball and at least 1 other SPCA annual event.

  4. Commitment to attend at least nine (9) monthly Board meetings per year.

  5. Lobby local and state lawmakers when necessary to meet SPCA’s goals.

  6. Commitment to be a Pet Patron (donate a minimum of $1,000 per year) while on the board.
