The Community Give 2015

Announcing The Community Give 2015!

Most of you likely remember all the excitement of last years event! It was a historic day for all the non-profit organizations of Fredericksburg and the surrounding areas: a 24-hour online day of giving hosted by the Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region!

Well, he big day has been set for this year: May 5, 2015!

From midnight to midnight, our community will work together to give back to the non-profits of the region.

Last year, almost 5,000 people in our area generously donated nearly $450,000 to area non-profits! This year a new goal has been set: to reach 7,500 people and raise $750,000! Can we all do it together?

March Madness Cat Adoption Special

As many people are preparing their basketball brackets for the month, we here at the SPCA are prepping to find forever homes for as many of our black and black/white cats and kittens as we can!

Black cats are often the most overlooked and least likely to be adopted in shelters across the country and we just can’t fathom why! That’s why for the month of March we are having our March Madness Adoption Special; All black and black & white cats and kittens have had their adoption fee reduced to just $5! Can you believe it? For 5 dollars you can make a lifetime friend!

Please stop by the shelter this month and visit the many, many ebony feline friends we have that are patiently awaiting their forever families!

Sponsor An Animal

sponsored-featuredCats and dogs in our care stay with us until they find a home. On a daily basis, we care for approximately 220 cats and 100 dogs so you can imagine how much it costs just to feed that many mouths each day. In addition, we must pay for shelter and we also provide medical care, socialization and most of all LOVE! Please become a sponsor to one of these animals in need of your help.
